The site is prepared and the slurry wall and ring beam are constructed.
The basement that will house the automated storage and retrieval system and the mezzanine level mechanical room are dug.

The bridge from Mansueto to Regenstein is built, the pathway through Regenstein to the bridge is constructed, and the interior work in Regenstein is finished.

The automated storage and retrieval system is assembled on the basement level.
Finishing work is done. Faculty, students, staff, and visiting scholars begin using the new Library in May 2011.
Materials from campus libraries are loaded into the automated storage and retrieval system.
